Feed ridge gap waveguide slot array obtained a wide band-width of 30%. However, the use of ridge gap waveguide will increasethefabricationdif˝cultyduetoitscomplexstructure. SIW slot antenna arrays, by contrast, are desirable forms for easy fabrication and mass production. Some SIW slot antenna arrays with enhanced bandwidth have been pro-posed. A novel substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity-backed slot antenna is proposed in this study to achieve enhanced-gain performance. The peak gain is remarkably improved with the use of an SIW cavity and metallic superstrate. The superstrate comprises a single rectangular slot window and two half-wavelength patches. A 46GHz broadband high-gain SIW slot antenna was designed and tested to verify the SIW slot antenna design procedure.That design demonstrated good agreement between the simulatedand measuredresults. Theantenna has a measuredgain of 7.8dBiat 46.2GHz and bandwidthof 4.72GHz.Then designof a 460GHz SIW antenna was conducted in a.
